Tiruchirappalli Airport has two adjacent terminals. The integrated passenger terminal is used for both international and domestic air traffic.
It is the third-largest airport in Tamil Nadu in terms of total passenger traffic next to Chennai and Coimbatore.
Due to the consistent increase in the air traffic, the integrated passenger terminal was build on March 2018.
The airport is ISO 9001:2008 quality certified and was declared an international airport on 4 October 2012.
